Thresherman Days Archives
Milden Heritage Days began in 1985 when a group of farmers decided to start an antique farming demonstration for the local residents as well as visitors. Even though this event is no longer held we want to share some pictures and history of the “Milden Heritage Days”.
The day always started with a pancake breakfast, then moved pout to the fair grounds for the parade of tractors, steam engines, separators and antique vehicles. Lunch was served in a large tent that was set up specifically for the occasion and consisted of roast beef on a bun and one of the best tasting pies on earth, Saskatoon Berry.
The afternoon activities consisted of steam versus vintage gas-powered tractors. These tractors were booked up to antique separators and used in the field to thresh oats. There were also antique combines harvesting in the field, horse powered binder grain cutting and stook loading demonstrations.
After a community supper, the evening concluded with a Gospel Concert and a dance at the Elks Hall.
